Hamptons Happenings: 4th of July Weekend

There's a particular kind of energy that settles over the East End the week of the Fourth. Boats fill the harbors, the village sidewalks get a little busier, and every porch seems to be hosting something. We love this week. Here's our go-to for the whole weekend, plus where we're headed and what we're wearing while we're there.

Our Weekend Go-To

Before the events, there's the in-between — the after-beach, before-dinner, hosting moments that make up most of the holiday. For that, we're reaching for the Chloe Tee + Dune Crop Pant. Elevated enough to answer the door in, easy enough to live in all weekend.

Sag Harbor Yacht Club Fireworks
Saturday, July 4 • 9:00–9:30 PM • Long Wharf

Our home base does it right. The show launches from Long Wharf, but Marine Park and Havens Beach both offer a free, easy view if you'd rather skip the crowds at the dock. Grab dinner in the village first, then make your way to the water before nine.

Gosman's Dock Holiday Weekend
July 3–5 • Montauk

If you're out east this weekend, Gosman's is worth the drive — live music runs all three days, with fireworks over the harbor Saturday night. It's the kind of spot where the whole weekend feels like one long celebration.

Navy Beach DJ Weekend
July 3–6 • Montauk

For something with a bit more energy, Navy Beach has DJ sets running from Friday through Monday. A good pick if your holiday plans lean toward dancing rather than watching the sky.

Southampton 4th of July Parade
Friday, July 4 • 10 AM–12 PM • Agawam Park

A genuine Southampton tradition, now in its 105th year — and this one's extra special, marking the country's 250th. The route runs from Railroad Plaza down Main Street to Monument Square. Get there early if you want a real view.

Looking Ahead: Maidstone Park Fireworks
Saturday, July 18 • Springs

Not this weekend, but worth marking down — the Clamshell Foundation's show over Three Mile Harbor returns later this month. Maidstone Park is the move for open views and room to spread out, just bring a flashlight for the walk back.
